Jennifer Dowd is in great demand as a solo performer, actress and teacher. She has won many awards as a vocalist throughout her career; winning the Texas State Language Symposium Best French Vocalist as a teenager, performing as a soloist in the Weill Recital Hall and Carnegie Hall in New York, and performing as a Semi-Finalist in the 2006 and 2007 Shreveport Opera Singer of the Year national vocal competitions. Jennifer has starred in operas with the Oklahoma City and Shreveport Operas, in addition to many other solo and ensemble appearances throughout the nation. She has received wide acclaim as a versatile actress appearing in many diverse roles such as Corie Bratter in Barefoot in the Park, Martha Jefferson in 1776, Maggie in Tennesee William’s Cat On A Hot Tin Roof, Kate in Taming of the Shrew, Queen of the Night in Die Zauberflote, Mrs. Nordstrom in A Little Night Music, and Mrs. Mullin in Carousel. She considers her signature role to be Musetta in La Boheme, which also happens to be her favorite.
